Sony India is gearing up to launch new audio products in India on June 24th, as revealed by tipster Mukul Sharma on Twitter. The launch date poster shared by the tipster was also retweeted by Sony India’s official account. The brand is promoting the earbuds under #BootYourVibes hashtag. While the teaser poster only partially reveals the upcoming TWS earbuds, we were able to spot two brand new models, the Sony WF-SP800N and WF-XB700, on the official Sony India website with the “coming soon” status. These will be the company’s first-ever truly wireless buds in the country.
While the listing doesn’t reveal the pricing just yet, earlier reports suggest at least one of the models will be priced in the range of Rs 20,000, meaning they fall in the premium segment.
The Sony WF-SP800N sports earbuds come with digital noise-cancelling support and have an IP55 rating for water and sweat resistance. The company claims they can last up to 9 hours of usage on a single charge and 18 hours with the charging case and noise cancelling on and 26 hours without. There’s also Quick charging on board, 10 minutes of charging gives up to 60 minutes of music playback with noise cancelling. They connect via Bluetooth and have support for Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri virtual assistants. It has Ambient Sound Mode that keeps you aware of the surroundings and touch controls to play, stop, or skip through tracks and adjust the volume.
As for the Sony WF-XB700, the earbuds feature Extra Bass that delivers punchy low-end sound. It has an IPX4 rating for splashes and sweat and the ergonomic design offers a secure and comfortable grip. The earbuds connect via Bluetooth and are said to last up to 18 hours with the carry case and there’s quick charge support, where a 10-minute charge gives up to 60 minutes of music playback.
