Sony has introduced a new USB OTG pen drive that comes with the both standard USB Type-A and the latest Type-C connectors. Called the Sony USM-CA1, the device sports a USB Type-C connector on one side and a Type-A connector on the other. The device comes with a one-inch metallic body that weighs around 5 grams.

The new Sony USB OTG drive supports USB 3.1 Gen1 connectivity, and offers data transfer speeds of up to 130MB/s. The drive comes bundled with a silicon cover that has lanyard eyelets. It will go on sale in key markets later this month in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage capacity variants. However, there’s no word on the pricing yet.

While there are several USB Type-C smartphones available in the market, Sony is yet to release a device sporting the new USB standard. However, if this flash drive is anything to go by, it shouldn’t be too long before the brand launches its first smartphones with USB Type-C.
