“Sony Xperia 2 is expected to come with Snapdragon 855 SoC, triple rear cameras and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor”
Sony Xperia 2 flagship has been in the news for a while now, and it is expected to go official at the IFA 2019 show in Berlin later this week. Now, ahead of the launch, live images and promotional renders of the Xperia 2 surfaced online, revealing the design in its full glory from all possible angles. These show a strikingly similar design as its predecessor with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a triple rear camera at the back, which is rumoured to pack three 12MP sensors, including an ultra-wide-angle lens and 2X optical zoom. The camera module has been moved to the top-left corner from the middle as seen on the Xperia 1.
Furthermore, the renders also show off the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a dedicated camera button, a USB Type-C port and bottom-firing speakers. There are thick bezels on the top and bottom of the display. The handset is expected to pack a smaller 6.1-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution and is also tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC. It is said to rock up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage that should be further expandable via microSD card.
The Sony Xperia 2 is said to measure 158mm x 68.3mm x 8.3mm (9.2mm including the rear camera bump). The handset is rumoured to pack 3,200mAh battery that will support wireless charging technology and run Android 9.0 Pie with the brand’s custom skin on top. Since IFA 2019 show is right around the block, we might hear more details very soon.
