“The new Xperia XA3, Xperia XA3 Ultra, Xperia L3 are expected to be upcoming mid-range offering from Sony”
Sony seems to be gearing up for the launch of Xperia XA and Xperia L series smartphones shortly. The offerings – likely to be called Xperia XA3, Xperia XA3 Ultra, and Xperia L3 – have allegedly been spotted the website of Eurasian Economic Commission with model number l14113, l14213 and l14312 respectively. The listings, apart from proving their existing, don’t reveal much about the upcoming Sony phones.
First spotted by the folks at Nashville Chatterclass, the three Sony smartphones have model numbers bearing the prefix ‘I’. The report points out that the 2017 and 2018 models had the prefixes ‘G’ and ‘H’ respectively, so the ‘I’ models will be for 2019. Needless to say, the handsets will come as a successor to Sony Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra (first impression) and Xperia L2. Going by the launch cycle, they are likely to be introduced in early January at CES 2019. All the three offerings are expected to be mid-range offerings from Sony, with the Xperia L3 being the most affordable.
Early speculations suggest that the Sony Xperia XA3, Xperia XA3 Ultra, and Xperia L3 could all come with the modern 18:9 aspect ratio display – a jump from 16:9 aspect ratio displays from its predecessors. The handsets are likely to employ a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and run Android 9 Pie OS out of the box. In the camera department, they are rumoured to be the first Sony devices to come with dual-rear camera setup. Lastly, an alleged Geekbench listing of Xperia XA3 reveals Snapdragon 660 ticking at its core paired with 6GB of RAM.
That’s all we know so far! It’s worth mentioning that Sony is yet to reveal if and when it’s planning to launch the devices.
