Tata Nexon EV clocks sales milestone

The Tata Nexon EV enjoys a dominant 70 percent of the total sales in the electric passenger car segment, which is now dotted with many competitors. Within the sub-Rs 25 lakh price point come offerings like the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona, and now also the Tata Tigor EV; all of these compete against the Tata Nexon EV. Despite the competition, Tata in October 2021 reported that it had clocked 10,000+ bookings of EVs alone. The Tata Nexon EV has been credited for the majority of this as its success seems to be the driving force behind the statistical figures. The Tata Nexon EV has clocked a record sales milestone of 13,500 units in the two years it has spent on the market.

The Tata Nexon EV price starts from Rs 14.29 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant. The Tata Nexon EV has at its disposal a motor that churns out 127 bhp on offer and 245 Nm of torque with the help of a 30.2 kWh battery pack. The all-electric powerplant is capable of propelling the car from 0-100kmph in just 9.14 seconds and also delivers a claimed range of 312km on a single charge. While charging using a DC fast charger the Tata Nexon EV is capable of charging from 0-80 percent in just an hour and when charging via household circuits it takes about 8.5 hours to go from 10-90 percent of charge.

This current generation Tata Nexon EV is due for an upgrade that is likely to bring longer range, higher top speed, more features, rear disc brakes, and some probable cosmetic changes.
