The Tiago EV is likely to adopt Tigor EV’s ZipTron EV powertrain which comprises of a motor that produces 75hp of power and 170Nm of torque and is mated to a 26kWh lithium-ion battery that is good for 306km of claimed range. The powertrain accepts faster 25kW DC charging and full charges within 1 hour 5 minutes at that speed.
The Tata Tiago EV can be expected to be cheaper by a lakh as compared to the Tigor EV, given that the difference between the ICE powered Tiago and Tigor is such. The Tata Tigor EV is price between Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.64 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago hence could start just above the Rs 10 lakh mark which would open up EV ownership possibilities for many buyers.
