“Tecno Spark Go Plus will most likely be an incremental upgrade to the Tecno Spark Go smartphone from 2019”
Transsion Holdings sub-brand Tecno is gearing up to launch its first smartphone of 2020 called Tecno Spark Go Plus in India. The handset will be unveiled in the country on Friday, January 9th, 91mobiles has learned from retail sources. While the details about the Tecno Spark Go Plus remain unknown at the moment, we can tell that it will be a budget-centric offering and a successor to last year’s Tecno Spark Go smartphone. The Tecno Spark Go Plus will launch in India on the same day as the Realme 5i budget smartphone launch in India.
The Tecno Spark Go, to recall, was launched in India priced at Rs 5,499 for 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage onboard. The handset runs Android 9 Pie-based HiOS 5.0 out of the box and ships with 19.5:9 aspect ratio 6.1-inch HD+ display. The phone is powered by 2GHz quad-core MediaTek’s Helio A22 processor coupled, paired with 3,000mAh battery. In optics, the Spark Go rocks an 8-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel shooter on the front for selfies and video calling. There is no fingerprint sensor, so users will have to rely on the face unlock 2.0 for security.
Tecno Spark Go Plus is largely a mystery in terms of specifications and design. The name suggests this could be an Android Go smartphone, which would place in the entry-level segment. The smartphone could go up against the likes of the Realme C2 and Redmi 8A. To recall, the Realme C2 comes with a waterdrop display and diamond-cut design. It is powered by a Helio P22 SoC, sports a 12MP + 2MP dual camera setup and houses a 4,000mAh battery. Redmi 8A also gets a waterdrop display, a Snapdragon 439 SoC and 5,000mAh battery.
