The Family Man recap (spoiler alert!)

“The Family Man” is an Amazon Prime Video original Hindi series that has it all – action, drama, and comedy. First premiered on the platform in September 2019, the superhit show stars Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man who works for a special cell of the National Investigation Agency. The series follows Tiwari as he balances his professional and personal life, including his responsibilities to his family and his duty to his country.

Season 1

As mentioned, Season 1 is all about Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man who lives an undercover life working for a special cell of the National Investigation Agency. The hilarious storyline shows how Tiwari struggles to deal with his menial household issues involving his wife and kids, as he tries to ward off a terrorist attack against India.

Throughout the season, across episodes, Tiwari is faced with difficult choices and must navigate a complex web of personal and professional relationships. He is challenged by his wife, who questions his long hours and absences, and by his colleagues, who are sceptical of his unorthodox methods, and his kids, who are going through regular issues in their teenage years. Despite these obstacles, Tiwari remains determined to do his daily job and stop the attack to save countless lives.

The slow burn season culminates in a tense finale; Tiwari must confront the mastermind behind the terrorist plot and make a sacrifice that will change his life forever. The season ends on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating the next season.

Season 2

Thanks to the cliffhanger where Season 1 ended, Season 2 picks up from there and continues to follow the life of Srikant Tiwari as he balances his duties to his family and his work for the National Investigation Agency.

In Season 2, Tiwari has left the TASC but is recalled and tasked with yet another national security conspiracy by foreign forces as he finds himself stopping a mysterious rogue organisation that is planning a massive attack on India. Yet again, he must navigate a complicated web of political, personal, and professional relationships with family, co-workers, and terrorists to uncover the truth behind the organisation and prevent the attack.

Throughout the season, Tiwari is forced to confront his past mistakes. It provides a deeper look into Tiwari’s life and its struggles. The season also explores the lives and motivations of other characters, including Tiwari’s wife and colleagues, as well as the terrorists he is pursuing.

The season builds to a dramatic conclusion, now the style of the Web series, as Tiwari faces off against the rogue organisation. He has to make a choice that will affect his family and the country alike.
