JioCinema to stream The Office, Suits and more starting next month

Reliance’s Viacom18 today announced that it has signed a multi-year partnership deal with NBCUniversal (NBCU). The deal will bring popular NBCU shows such as Suits, The Office and Parks and Recreation to JioCinema. This is the second major deal that Viacom18 has secured after its exclusive deal with Warner Bros Discovery Inc. for JioCinema.

With the NBCU partnership, JioCinema’s portfolio of English and Hollywood has expanded even more. There’s now a plethora of content that will be available for JioCinema viewers. Some of these include The Lazarus Project, Dwayne Johnson’s Young Rock and The Lovers. Peacock Originals including Bel-Air, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin and The Calling will also be part of the library. 

This deal also adds DreamWorks Animation’s popular titles such as Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and M3GAN. Some more familiar movies like Jurassic, Bourne, Shrek, The Mummy and Pitch Perfect franchises, Despicable Me/Minions, and Fast franchises will be available to stream. Some new and upcoming releases will also be available to stream on JioCinema. These include the recently released Fast X and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer which will be available in the future. 

JioCinema Premium

All of NBCU content will start streaming next month on JioCinema Premium which it announced recently. Priced at Rs 999 per year, JioCinema Premium offers Hollywood content and it currently streams popular shows like Succession, The Last of Us, and House of the Dragon. This subscription plan has a validity of 12 months, and comes with benefits like watching on any device and up to four devices at once, and highest video and audio quality. 

JioCinema was initially free for all Jio users but ever since the company’s plan to make it the top streaming service in India, it now requires subscription. JioCinema now competes with existing popular services including Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video.
