“The Smart TVs come in three screen sizes of 43-inch, 50-inch and 55-inch”
Thomson, which entered into the Indian television market earlier this year, has added three new products to its lineup. And today, the company has unveiled Android-powered 43-inch, 50-inch and 55-inch UD9 series of Smart TVs with 4K support. The televisions also offer a new MyWall UI that comes with a ton of applications.
While the base model in the UD9 range features an LG IPS panel, the 50-inch and 55-inch Smart TVs ship with Samsung display. All three televisions offer an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. The devices are powered by CA53 Dual Core 1.4GHz processor, which is integrated with Mali-T720 graphics and is supplemented by 1GB of RAM. The storage onboard is 8GB, though users can also add in an SD card to expand it further.
Software-wise, the all-new UD9 TVs run Android 5.1.1 Lolipop. Thanks to the MyWall interface, customers get access to applications like Netflix, YouTube, Gmail, Facebook, Hotstar, Flipkart, VLC, and Spotify among others.
Commenting on the launch, SPPL’s CEO, Avneet Singh Marwah said “We are constantly striving to give something new to our customers. Innovating great product that matches with current trends and is at par with the global market, in this fast-paced segment, has been our top most priority! We are excited about the encouraging response the brand has been constantly receiving from all over India, ever since its launch early this year. Its continuous endeavour to live up to the promise of innovative technology at an affordable price.”
The pricing of the new Thomson UD9 TVs starts at Rs 33,999 in India. The brand has partnered with Flipkart as its exclusive retail partner, and the devices will be available to buy starting September 13th noon.
