Top 10 most powerful Android phones as per AnTuTu in December 2021

These are the most powerful phones as per Antutu currently

While it’s true that benchmarks do not equate to real-life performance all the time, they do provide us with a common platform to judge and rank a smartphone’s performance relative to others. Performance benchmarks help ground our experience in facts. And for this purpose, AnTuTu, one of the world’s leading platforms when it comes to benchmarking tests, remains one of the best options as far as smartphones are concerned. The company has released its latest monthly ranking list, and we are going to list down the 10 most powerful Android phones as per the AnTuTu benchmark in December 2021.

1. Nubia Red Magic 6 – 8,60,559

Nubia Red Magic 6S

The phone which topped AnTuTu’s November performance report – the Nubia Red Magic 6 – retains its first position as the best performing phone according to the benchmark. Powered by the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, its 16GB + 256GB model even surpassed its own November score of 8,60,400, proving that it remains the best choice for people who are looking for raw power.

2. ASUS ROG Phone 5s Pro – 8,38,937

Like the Nubia Red Magic 6, the ASUS ROG Phone 5s Pro retains its second position in AnTuTu’s best performing list. While its score for December was slightly lower than its November score, the phone managed to beat every other phone to claim the second spot. What is surprising is that the ROG Phone 5s Pro gets the slightly faster Snapdragon 888+ SoC, along with higher 18GB RAM and 512GB storage, when compared to the Red Magic 6. Still, it could not beat the latter, which shows that Nubia has indeed done some software magic with its Red Magic 6.

3. ASUS ROG Phone 5 – 8,23,213

Coming at number three is the ASUS ROG Phone 5, which scored 8,23,213 in the AnTuTu benchmark in December 2021. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, the winning model comes with 16GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. ASUS ROG Phone 5 was one of the best gaming phones when launched, and it remains the top choice for mobile gamers around the world, and its score clearly shows why.

4. Realme GT – 8,15,928

One of the most popular phones of 2021, the Realme GT, with its Snapdragon 888 chipset, 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage, takes the fourth spot in AnTuTu’s December performance report with a score of 8,15,928. The phone packs a stainless steel vapour cooling system which keeps the temperate down, resulting in better performance.

5. iQOO 7 – 8,15,414

Taking the fifth spot and right on the heels of the Realme GT is the iQOO 7 (labelled the iQOO & Legend in India), which is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. The model that achieved this score comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Apart from performance, another feature that makes this phone feel ultra-responsive is its 120Hz AMOLED display that has a 300Hz touch sampling rate and a 1000Hz Instant touch sampling rate.

6. Motorola Moto G200 5G – 8,04,693

At number six, we diverge from November’s list and get our first new entrant for December. Powered by the Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888+ chipset, the Motorola Moto G200 5G packs 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It’s a bit astonishing that the phone is so low in AnTuTu ranking even though it’s packing a slightly upgraded chipset. This goes to show that optimising chipset performance in a smartphone is as important as the chipset itself.

7. OnePlus 9 Pro – 7,97,839

The OnePlus 9 Pro retains its spot from last month and is the seventh best performing phone of December 2021 as per the AnTuTu benchmark. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, the winning model comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone features a quad-camera system tuned by Hasselblad. It also comes with Warp Charge 65T, which gives users a day of usage with just 15 minutes of charge.

8. Sony Xperia 1 III 5G – 7,95,952

Slipping two places since last month, the Sony Xperia 1 III 5G comes at the eighth position as per AnTuTu’s performance benchmark report of December 2021. Powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, the phone packs 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The slightly lower performance score despite having the same chipset might be because of the fact that the phone also packs a 4K HDR OLED 120Hz Display. That said, the USP of the device is its pro-grade cameras calibrated by ZEISS optics and supported by a camera app with all the controls that a pro photographer will ever need.

9. OnePlus 9 – 7,87,905

The second new entrant to the list, the OnePlus 9 takes the ninth spot in AnTuTu’s performance benchmark report of December 2021. The phone is powered by the – you guessed it – Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Worth mentioning that the brand has a newer model out in the form of the OnePlus 9 RT, which has just been launched and comes powered by the same chipset too.

10. Mi 11i (Global) – 7,79,736

Taking the 10th spot is the Mi 11i which is also a new entrant in AnTuTu’s top ten performing list. Keep in mind that this is the global version of Mi 11i, which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, and not the Indian Xiaomi 11i variant, which uses the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset. The phone made the cut by narrowly beating its own pricier sibling – the Mi 11 Ultra.
