Vivo also launched its flagship X100 series in China, and OPPO announced the launch date for its Reno 11 series.
Apple also made a big announcement of RCS support coming to iMessage next year.
Let’s take a look at each development in detail.
RCS coming to iPhones
Apple has confirmed it will bring RCS (Rich Communication Services) to iPhones next year. With RCS support, Android and iPhone users will have a better messaging experience without relying on a third-party app. iPhone users would be able to use RCS to send text and high-quality media to their Android contacts. Apple plans to release a software update for RCS support.
Vivo X100 series launched
Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro debuted in China earlier this week. These are also the first smartphones to feature the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. The Vivo X100 series comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of onboard storage. Both phones feature a 6.78-inch 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display, 50MP triple cameras, and up to 120W fast charging support.
First OnePlus speaker coming soon
OnePlus has started teasing its first-ever speaker. Details haven’t been revealed yet but the speaker’s design has been revealed and it looks something like what Nothing would do. The OnePlus speaker has a transparent design with all the mechanics inside visible. OnePlus has teased the speaker through a newspaper ad, and teaser on Instagram.
Nothing Chats messaging app
Nothing is bringing the iMessage experience to Android with a new app, Nothing Chats. This app will let Android users chat with iPhone users, and it also brings some iMessage features including the famous blue bubbles. Nothing Chats is available in select countries though, and only for Phone (2) users. It plans on expanding the app to more regions.
