We just started June but there’s already been some major events in the tech industry. Apple’s annual developer conference kicked off with the unveiling of its first AR headset, the ‘Vision Pro’. Another launch was the Realme 11 Pro series in India, while Motorola announced the launch of its foldables in India. We’ll also be seeing new foldables next month which Samsung confirmed earlier this week. 

So let’s take a look at all the developments from this week in tech. 

Moto Razr 40 series India launch

Shortly after debuting the Moto Razr 40 and Moto Razr 40 Ultra, Motorola announced it will bring the foldables to India. The launch date hasn’t been revealed but it should be made official soon. As for the phones, the Moto Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra come in a clamshell form factor. The Razr 40 Ultra also boasts one of the biggest exterior displays which is a 3.6-inch pOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. You can check out the full specifications of the phone here. 

Nothing Phone (2) design leak

Nothing Phone (2) is one of the most anticipated Android smartphones which make it a popular pick in the rumour mill. A new leak claimed to be live pictures of a Nothing Phone (2) testing unit showed us what the new device could look like. As expected, there isn’t much of a difference between the Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2). But Nothing CEO Carl Pei was quick to deny the leak calling it ‘fake’ so we might just see some design changes in the new phone.

Apple Vision Pro headset

Apple finally took the wraps off its AR headset that had been rumoured for years. The Apple Vision Pro is an AR (augmented reality) headset that seamlessly integrates with your natural environment, displaying an interface similar to an iPhone in your ambient space. With the headset you can watch movies, play games, interact with apps, make FaceTime calls and more. The Apple Vision Pro, however, carries a hefty price tag of $3,499 which translates to roughly Rs 2,89,000. 

At WWDC, Apple also announced iOS 17 the next OS upgrade for iPhones. This time there aren’t any major updates but multiple minor ones for various apps. You can take a look at all the new iOS 17 features and compatible devices here.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023

Samsung announced it will host the next Galaxy Unpacked event in July, and at its home turf, South Korea. Samsung didn’t spill any details but going by the timeline we’re expecting new foldables. This will most likely be the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones that will launch at this Unpacked event. There are speculations suggesting the event could take place on July 26th. 

Realme 11 Pro, Realme 11 Pro+ launched in India 

Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 Pro+ smartphones launched in India after debuting in China last month. The Realme 11 Pro+ boasts a 200MP primary camera, and 100W fast charging support. This is mainly what sets it apart from the Realme 11 Pro but both phones come with quite a lot of similarities. In India, the Realme 11 Pro starts at Rs 23,999, while the Realme 11 Pro+ has a starting price of Rs Rs 27,999.
