Tork Kratos electric bike launching in India on January 26th with 100km range and fast-charging support

Pune-based Tork Motors has finally scheduled a launch day for the Tork Kratos electric motorcycle. The Kratos launch date has been set for January 26th, i.e. the Republic Day of India. The Tork Kratos electric motorcycle has been in development for the last six years and was originally codenamed T6X when it was first unveiled back in 2016. Now, after thorough testing, development, and research, the company is all set to bring the electric bike to the market. The Kratos will be India’s first homegrown electric motorcycle that features a modern sporty design and features.

Tork Kratos price in India

The Tork Kratos price in India is expected to be around Rs 1.8 lakh ex-showroom. This price is excluding central and state government subsidies, which should bring down the price a little. Bookings for the motorcycle will start after launch, with deliveries starting in March 2022. The company plans on selling around 5,000-10,000 units annually in the first 3 years. Tork Motors has a manufacturing plant in Chakan, near Pune, Maharashtra. 

Tork Kratos features

Being India’s first electric motorcycle, the Kratos will feature a modern design including a trellis frame. It’ll get a telescoping front fork, rear monoshock, split seats, LED lights, and both front and back disc brakes. The bike will run a proprietary OS called TIROS (Tork Intuitive Response Operating System), developed by Tork Motors. It will offer real-time data for power usage, range, and power management. You’ll also get a 4.3-inch TFT screen, geo-fencing, navigation, anti-theft, and app/cloud connectivity. 

The Kratos will be powered by a 6kW DC axial flux motor, which produces 27Nm of torque. According to Tork Motors, the Kratos will be able to achieve a top speed of 100kmph while delivering a range of 100km. The IP67-rated lithium-ion battery back will offer quick charging support, with the ability to charge from 0 to 80 percent in just an hour.
