“Now you can pre-book rides on Uber for all wedding-related celebrations”
App-based taxi service Uber has launched UberWEDDINGS in India. The company has partnered with WedMeGood, a wedding planning website, to offer cashless mobility solutions for wedding-related travel in the country. The new service will be available only in 12 cities across India, and will be live until February 2017.
UberWEDDINGS will let you pre-book rides for bachelor / bachelorette parties, dinners, and other wedding-related celebrations. Prior to the wedding, hosts can book a specific number of promo code-based Uber rides on the WedMeGood website. These codes can then be shared with guests or family members during wedding preparations.
Uber aims to make it easy for the host to keep a track of their travel expenses without worrying about coordinating pick-ups and drops, parking, and waiting charges. Hosts can also customise the promo codes with their name or their wedding hashtag that will be printed by Uber and will be made available within three working days of purchase request. These can then be shared with guests.
UberWEDDINGS is available in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Ludhiana, New Delhi, Pune, Udaipur and Lucknow. Apart from India, the brand offers the service in Washington DC, San Francisco, New York, Boston, and Los Angeles as well.
