iPhone SE (2022)

iPhone SE (2020)

The iPhone SE (2022) is said to be a refresh of the iPhone SE 2020. Packing in Apple’s latest and greatest mobile SoC – A15 Bionic, the iPhone SE (2022) could see major upgrades in the performance and connectivity departments while also bringing in 5G support. As for the appearance of the smartphone, it is expected to be the same as the previous generation’s iPhone SE, which in turn was of the same design as the dated iPhone 8. Meaning, we may once again see the huge bezels and Touch ID on this year’s iPhone SE (review) as well. The iPhone SE 5G 2022 price could start at USD 300 (approx Rs 23,000).

Apple is also expected to unveil the fifth generation of iPad Air during the spring event. It is likely to boast a huge 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with an upgraded ultrawide 12MP camera on the front. As for the performance side of things, the iPad Air 5th generation might be powered by the A15 Bionic SoC with 5G support for the cellular variant of the device. Lastly, the colour options we may get to see are Space Gray, Silver Green, Rose Gold, and Sky Blue.

Mac mini

Under development for quite some time now, Apple may end up launching an upgraded version of the Mac mini at the upcoming event. The device will allegedly feature the tech giant’s latest silicon chips, namely M1 Pro and M1 Max, depending upon the variants. Despite retaining the same squarish design, the Mac mini is said to include a metal rim and polycarbonate top along with a rubber base. Another noteworthy design change is the support for additional Thunderbolt ports.

MacBook Air

The new MacBook Air could come with MacBook Pro-like notch

Inspired by the 24-inch iMac, The upcoming MacBook Air is rumoured to get a host of brand new colour options. Another significant upgrade could be the introduction of mini-LED backlighting to its 13.3-inch display, just like the newer generation MacBook Pro variants. What’s more, we may also see the notch making its way to the MacBook Air that would house an ultra-wide 1080p webcam with the support for Center Stage. On the inside, it may be powered by the M2 chip which will be slightly more powerful than the M1 but with the same eight-core architecture.

MacBook Pro 13-inch

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is due for an update and the spring event of 2022 could change that. Just like the MacBook Air, the new MacBook Pro could receive a spec bump in the form of an M2 chip as well as a new FullHD wide-angle camera for attending online meetings. As for the rest of the specs, it won’t feature a mini LED display like other ‘Pro’ variants and will probably have less storage space and processing power to keep the price at a lower level.

Other announcements (rumoured)

In addition to the aforementioned devices, Apple may also make a few software-related announcements. The company may introduce the stable release of iOS 14.5, which currently is in the beta phase rolled out to developers and users’ enrolled into the public beta program. This update brings one of the most demanded features among iOS users i.e. Face ID with a mask. It uses the area around the eyes to authenticate the user’s face for unlocking the iPhone as well as making payments through third-party apps. To keep things fresh, the iOS 14.5 update also brings 37 emojis with 75 skin tone additions.
