2019 is drawing to a close, yet there are several smartphones that are expected to launch in December – in India as well as globally. Realme XT 730G

The Realme XT 730G, aka Realme X2, is a slightly better variant of the Realme XT smartphone, which was launched back in September. Unlike the XT, the Realme XT 730G packs Qualcomm’s gaming-centric Snapdragon 730G chipset instead of the Snapdragon 712 mobile platform. Other upgrades include 32MP selfie camera and 30W VOOC 3.0 fast-charging speeds.

The rest of the specifications are almost the same. There is get a 64MP quad-rear camera setup, a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with waterdrop notch and in-display fingerprint scanner, and 4,000mAh battery.

OPPO Reno S

OPPO is expected to launch its flagship offering the Reno S in India in December. As reported exclusively by 91mobiles, the Reno S will rock 64MP primary sensor on the back and 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast-charging tech. The charging tech has already debuted with OPPO Reno Ace in China, and it’s rated to charge a 4,000mAh battery from zero to 50 percent in roughly 10 minutes and fully charge it in less than 27 minutes.

The OPPO Reno S is likely to be priced at around Rs 40,000 and employ Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 855+ chipset under the hood. Software-wise, the handset is expected to boot Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 out of the box.

Moto razr 2019

Moto razr 2019 is confirmed to launch in India, and we’re hoping it could as early as next month. The phone was unveiled in November at an event in the US with a foldable display and lots of nostalgia. While there’s no launch date or price details yet, Motorola has already started the registrations of the Moto Razr 2019 in the country.

The Moto razr 2019 flaunts a clamshell design with a 6.2-inch flexible display that folds vertically. You can answer calls by flipping it open and end calls by flipping it shut, just like the iconic Moto razr V3 from 2004. Additionally, the phone also houses a 2.7-inch Quick View display on the outside, Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, a 16MP main camera, a 5MP camera on the inside, and a 2,510mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy A51

Samsung could refresh the lineup of its Galaxy A series with an all-new Galaxy A51 launch in India in December. The handset has been doing the rounds of the internet quite a bit lately, and hence, it wouldn’t be wrong to presume its launch around the corner. The Galaxy A51 is expected to be a mid-range offering, succeeding the Galaxy A50s smartphone that was launched a couple of months ago in the country.

Samsung Galaxy A51

Samsung Galaxy A51 specifications reportedly include a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display, Exynos 9611 SoC, 4GB RAM, and 64GB as well as 128GB storage options. The handset could be the first Samsung offering to run Android 10 OS out of the box. In the imaging department, the Galaxy A51 could rock a 48MP quad-rear camera setup, aided by a 12MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and a 5MP depth sensor. Lastly, it could ship with 4,000mAh battery and a 32MP snapper in the waterdrop notch on the front for selfies and video calling. 

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite

Apart from the Galaxy A series, Samsung is also expected to refresh Galaxy S10 series with a new smartphone in December. The handset will reportedly be dubbed as Galaxy S10 Lite. Going by the leaks and rumours, Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite specifications include a 6.69-inch display, Snapdragon 855 SoC, and 48MP triple rear cameras. The phone’s front camera may feature a 32MP shooter for selfies and video calling. Lastly, it’s said to be backed by 45W fast charging tech and microSD card support.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy M50

While we don’t know much about the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy M50, rumours are rife that the handsets could launch in India in December. 91mobiles has learnt that the Galaxy M50, which is expected to be the successor to Galaxy M40 smartphone from earlier this year, is in production at Samsung’s facility in Greater Noida, UP. The handset will reportedly go on sale in retail stores on the same day as the online stores, which will be a first for Samsung. The Galaxy M50 specifications are vague at the moment, but we’re expecting them to have better hardware than the current model.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite, meanwhile, is said to be more affordable compared to the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+.

OPPO Reno 3 5G

Moving on to the international launches, OPPO has scheduled a launch of its mid-range Reno 3 5G smartphone in China in December. The handset will be the first smartphone to come with ColorOS 7 running out of the box. The phone will, of course, boast of 5G connectivity, and rumours are rife that it could be the world’s first smartphone to rock Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 SoC.

Other features and specifications of OPPO Reno 3 5G include a 6.5-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 2,400 X 1,080 pixels resolution and in-display fingerprint sensor for security. It may be driven by a whopping 4,500mAh battery with 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging and sport 60MP quad-camera setup at the back. Lastly, OPPO Reno 3 5G is reportedly priced around Rs 33,000.

Vivo X30

Next in line, we’ve Vivo X30. The Chinese brand is expected to take the wraps off the handset in December in its home market. The Vivo X30 is confirmed to be a mid-range handset powered by Samsung’s new Exynos 980 flagship 5G chipset. Obviously, the handset is tipped to feature 5G connectivity that will support both standalone and non-standalone (SA and NSA) network operation modes.

As for the specifications, Vivo X30 is expected to feature a 6.5-inch display, 8GB RAM, 128GB base storage, 64MP+8MP+13MP+2MP quad-camera setup at the rear, and 30W fast charging. The handset is said to be accompanied by a Pro model that may come with 6.89-inch display, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, 64MP+13MP+13MP+2MP quad rear camera setup and 40W fast charging. There’s no launch date of the Vivo X30 series from the company yet.

Huawei Nova 6 5G

Huawei is expected to launch the next-gen Nova-series smartphones the Huawei Nova 6 5G in December. The handsets will reportedly have a slightly bigger form factor compared to its predecessor Huawei Nova 5 series. Early leaks and rumours suggest that the Huawei Nova 6 may debut with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED punch-hole display with dual 32MP + 12MP selfie cameras.

At the Nova 6’s core will reportedly lie Huawei flagship Kirin 990 mobile platform that comes with support fifth-generation cellular connectivity. In the imaging department, the phone may house an astounding 60MP primary sensor paired with a 16MP secondary shooter, a couple of 2MP sensors – probably for ultra-wide and macro shots at the back. Apart from this, the handset may include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4,000mAh battery with 40W Magic Charge support, and up to 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option.

POCO F2

The POCO F2 smartphone could break cover in December (fingers crossed!). The handset, which will supersede the POCO F1, has been the subject of rumour mill for quite some time. The POCO F2 is rumoured to be an affordable flagship offering, with Snapdragon 855 SoC ticking at its core and an array of camera sensors at the back. The latest Spigen case leak suggests that the phone may come with design reminiscent to that of Redmi K20 Pro, with pop-up selfie camera design, in-screen fingerprint scanner, and vertically-aligned camera module at the back.
