How to check your Vi (Vodafone Idea) number
There are basically four methods with which you can find out your Vi number. Let’s quickly take a look:
1. Check Vi number using USSD code
This method is very useful if someone in your home still uses a feature phone. A USSD code is a number of digits programmed into your SIM card that allows customers to perform a set of functions. For this to work, make sure that the SIM is inserted, there is cell reception, and your number is activated. Every telecom operator has different sets of USSD codes for different services. So, to know your number:
- Open your Phone app on your mobile phone and go to Dialer.
- Dial *199# on your Vodafone Idea SIM for which you want to know the number.
- You will see a flash message that reads MSISDN: XXXXXXXXXX (phone number).
- Note down your phone number before closing the message
In case you are having a feature phone, simply Dial *199# to know your number. A similar flash message will appear. You may note down your mobile number from there.
2. Check Vi number through customer care
Apart from using USSD codes, you can also directly call the customer care to find out your Vi number. However, it takes quite a while just to talk to the customer executive since you have to go through an IVR (Interactive Voice Response).
- Dial 199 or 198 from your mobile phone.
- Select your preferred language.
- Select Option 1 and then wait until the IVR says through all your balance details. It will then start giving options on various services. Select Option 4 to be redirected to a customer care executive.
3. Check Vi number by calling others
You can easily find out your mobile number by dialing your friends phone. Simply open your dialer app and dial your friends mobile number. You will find out your phone number when it has dialled successfully. Do note it down.

4. Check Vi (Vodafone Idea) Number using the Vi App
Like Airtel and Jio, Vi offers a dedicated app for its customers. With this app, you can easily find your Vodafone Idea number without going through multiple steps. All you need to do is download the app and go through a few steps and you will be able to see your mobile number. Do note that you will need to know your phone number using the above steps first. Here is how it works:
- Download the Vi app from Google Play Store or the App Store.
- Once installed, open the app and you will be asked to enter your mobile number the first time.
- Once you enter your number, you will receive a one-time password on your mobile.
- Enter the OTP and you will be logged in to the app.
- Once you are logged in, you will be able to see your mobile number anytime.
