Vivo has refreshed the lineup of its gaming-centric iQOO-series with the launch of the Vivo iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition smartphone in China. The handset is said to be an incremental upgrade to the iQOO Neo 855 smartphone that went official in October in the country. The new iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition comes with Qualcomm’s gaming-centric Snapdragon 855+ chipset ticking at its core instead of Snapdragon 855 SoC. The Snapdragon 855+ has higher clock speed and offers 15 percent faster performance compared to its sibling, according to the chipmaker. Beyond this, there isn’t any difference in the Vivo iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition. It has a similar form factor, AMOLED screen, beefy battery cell, triple rear cameras, and super-liquid cooling tech.

The Vivo iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition price in China is set at RMB 2,598 (26,400) for the base 8GB RAM variant. The phone’s 12GB RAM variant costs RMB 2,798 (~Rs 28,400). This is slightly expensive than the regular iQOO Neo 855 smartphone, which starts at RMB 1,998 (around Rs 20,100) for the 6GB RAM option.

The iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition, meanwhile, comes in three colour options: Iceland Aurora, Carbon Black and Light Mint, and goes for sale in China from December 12th onwards.

The Vivo iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition ships with 6.38-inch full-HD+ sAMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution, an in-display fingerprint scanner, waterdrop notch up top for the selfie camera, and support for HDR10. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 128GB native storage. This is aided by Multi-Turbo acceleration technology to enhance the overall performance of the device. The handset is driven by a 4,500mAh battery that supports Vivo’s 33W fast charging technology.

For photography, there is a triple camera setup with LED flash at the back, which comprises of the 12-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, the handset features a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture lens. The cameras are backed by HDR, panorama, Super Night Scene 2.0, professional mode, AI scene detection, and more.

The phone boots Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS 9 out of the box and features 10-layer heat dissipation system with liquid cooling tech to keep its thermal under check. The iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition features standard connectivity options, which includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
