Vivo iQOO vs Black Shark Helo specifications, design and features
The Vivo iQOO has an LED strip on its back surface, which is somewhat of a necessity for gaming phones these days. Not surprisingly then, the Black Shark Helo also holds an LED light embedded into the ‘S’ logo on its back. The two cooling vents on the back of this device also stand out. Its rear surface has been equipped with dual cameras and a fingerprint scanner, whereas the glass-based rear shell of the iQOO is only home to a triple-camera system.
The Vivo phone grabs a full-screen front surface that’s made possible by a teardrop notch. This display measures 6.41-inches diagonally and the AMOLED panel comes with full HD+ resolution. Moreover, it comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. As for the Black Shark Helo, it has been blessed with a 6-inch AMOLED display, which too renders its visuals in full HD+ resolution. Type-C ports make their way into both the phones, but while the Vivo handset offers a headphone socket, the Xiaomi phone chooses to give it a miss. Both the devices have ditched microSD card slots in favour of more storage models.
The Vivo iQOO’s internals are highlighted by the Snapdragon 855 chipset. This latest-and-greatest offering from Qualcomm offers the benefits of an advanced 2.84GHz octa-core processor and an Adreno 640 GPU. As for the Black Shark Helo, it doesn’t lag far behind, with its Snapdragon 845 SoC, which comes with a 2.8GHz octa-core processor and an Adreno 630 GPU. The iQOO comes with up to 12GB of RAM, depending upon the model you opt for. In comparison, the Black Shark Helo ships with up to 10GB of RAM.
Both these phones offer liquid-cooling systems to keep the heat down during long gaming sessions. There are a few other unique features about these handsets that you ought to know. The iQOO has big touch-sensitive areas on its frame to allow for console-like triggers. Professional-grade haptic engines have also gone into the phone. The Black Shark Helo has optional gamepads that can be attached to its top and bottom surfaces. The software onboard the Vivo phone is Android 9.0 Pie-based Funtouch 9. There are numerous software boost features have been added on top to aid your gaming experience. Same goes for the software onboard the Black Shark Helo, which is Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10.
Vivo iQOO vs Black Shark Helo camera and battery
You would not expect a gaming phone to grab great camera hardware, but these phones do kick in great optics. The iQOO’s triple-camera module includes a 12MP f/1.8 main snapper, a 13MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. Its front snapper is a 12MP unit. As for the Xiaomi phone, it houses a 12MP f/1.8 main camera and a 20MP f/1.8 secondary camera, which delivers optical zoom as well as portrait effects. The front camera of this phone is 20MP in resolution.
4,000mAh batteries go inside these two devices, but the Vivo iQOO’s ridiculously fast 44W charging speed cannot be beaten by the Black Shark Helo’s 18W adapter. In fact, the brand claims that the iQOO can be fully charged within just 45 minutes.
Both the Vivo iQOO and Black Shark Helo have their own merits and demerits. So in the end, it all boils down to what features you’d like your ideal gaming phone to have. Though it also depends upon their India pricing as and when they’re launched in the subcontinent. Tell us which one among them you would choose.
