Vivo Z1 Pro launched as an exclusive online model in India back in July, and at Rs 14,990, it was a good value-for-money product. Now, according to reports, Vivo is gearing up to launch its second Z-series phone in the country as early as next month. However, the exact moniker of the phone and a launch date isn’t revealed just yet. Since the launch is said to be in September, we can expect the brand to start teasing the handset and its features in the next few weeks. Like with the Z1 Pro, Vivo could target the mid-range price segment to take on the likes of Realme, Xiaomi, and Samsung. The report also suggests the handset in question won’t be a Z1 Pro successor; instead, it could be an offshoot model.
To recall, the Vivo Z1 Pro packs a 6.53-inch full-HD+ LCD display and is powered by the Snapdragon 712 SoC with Adreno 616 GPU. The handset comes in three variants— 4GB RAM + 64GB, 6GB RAM + 64GB, and 6GB RAM + 128GB onboard storage that is further expandable via microSD card. In terms of optics, the Vivo Z1 Pro rocks triple rear cameras consisting of a 16MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary shooter and a 2MP depth unit for portrait shots. There is a 32MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.
The Vivo Z1 Pro runs on Android 9.0 Pie with FunTouch OS 9.0 custom skin on top with ‘Multi Turbo’ technology. A 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support fuels the phone. It is also the first phone under the Rs 15,000 price segment to feature a punch-hole design. The 3.5mm audio jack, micro-USB port and speaker grill are placed on the bottom. The volume rockers and power button are present on the right side. The Vivo Z1 Pro price starts at Rs 14,990 and goes all the way up to Rs 17,990.
