“The Vivo NEX 3 is the world’s first smartphone to come with almost 100 percent screen-to-body ratio”
The Vivo NEX 3 smartphone has made its debut at an event in China. The next-gen flagship offering from the brand is the world’s first phone with almost 100 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Vivo NEX 3 packs a Super AMOLED display, which the company likes to call waterfall screen, for it has curved edges and no bezel or notch whatsoever. The selfie camera is placed atop the handset in a pop-up mechanism. The NEX 3 is available in 4G and 5G variants and ships with a triple-camera setup at the back that houses the latest Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 primary sensor with a 64-megapixel resolution. At the phone’s core lies the Qualcomm’s all-powerful Snapdragon 855+ SoC that offers slightly higher clock speed and better graphics performance compared to the Snapdragon 855 SoC.

Vivo NEX 3 specifications
Talking about the specifications, the Vivo NEX 3 sports a tall 6.89-inch Super AMOLED display that bears full HD+ resolution, HDR 10, and curved edges, just like Samsung’s flagships. The edges fall at a 90-degree angle, helping the handset to offer rather impressive 99.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The phone features Accident Touch Prevention 4.0 to prevent inadvertent touches while holding the device. The Vivo NEX 3 sports Touch Sense support with sensors instead of volume keys.
Underneath the NEX 3 ticks the powerful Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 Plus mobile platform, paired with a vapour chamber cooling system to keep the handset cool while gaming, up to 8GB of RAM, and 256GB onboard storage. The handset has Vivo’s AI voice assistant Jovi and runs FunTouch OS 9.1 atop Android 9 Pie out of the box.
In the camera department, the Vivo NEX 3 rocks triple cameras arranged in a circular module at the back panel. The setup comprises a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture lens, a 13-megapixel f/2.48 telephoto lens with 2x optical and up to 20x digital zooming and a 13-megapixel f/2.2 120-degree Super wide-angle lens that also doubles up as a macro lens that can capture from distances as close as 2.5cm. The front camera of the phone features a 16-megapixel unit with f/2.09 aperture for capturing selfies, video calling, and facial recognition. The cameras are mated with Hyper-HDR portrait mode and Vivo’s AI algorithm to further enhance the results.
A whopping 4,500mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging tech keeps the Vivo NEX 3 running. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, OnePlus 7 series-like X-haptic vibration motor, Hi-Fi audio, and multi-turbo 3.0 mode. The handset supports standard connectivity options including a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack.
