Vivo NEX 3 said to have 100 percent screen-to-body ratio and curved display

“The Vivo NEX 3 is tipped to arrive with ‘no hole’ and ‘no notch’ and an almost 90-degree curved screen

The alleged outer glass panel for the Vivo NEX 3 has been leaked. Tipster Ice Universe on Twitter has posted an image of the glass panel that is said to belong to Vivo’s next-gen NEX series smartphone. The leak shows what appears to be two panels of glass, with their edges curved around almost 90-degree angles to encase the front, rear, and also the edges of the Vivo NEX 3. Ice Universe further claims that the Vivo NEX 3 will have “no hole” and “no notch,” and “over 100 percent” screen-to-body ratio. The lineup from Vivo is known for its innovative design, and the upcoming NEX series handset could live up to the reputation.

Notably, there is no such smartphone yet that has such wild curved edges and a screen-to-body ratio as high, as stated above. If Vivo manages to implement these on the NEX 3, it will be the first commercial device will an all-screen display, sans the unsightly notch or punch-hole displays.

Having said that, these are just conjectures and the leak leaves plenty of questions unanswered. We still don’t know where the selfie camera on the handset is going to be, whether the company will use an under-display selfie camera or a pop-up module. The first-gen NEX series smartphone had it on the top edge in a pop-up camera mechanism. Also, it’s not clear what Ice Universe meant with “complete screen” in the tweet, though we do have our fingers crossed that there is no encore for the secondary display like we sae on Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition last year.

Unfortunately, Vivo is yet to officially confirm that it’s working on NEX 3 smartphone. So, we’ll have to wait for more details before we get too excited.
