“Vivo NEX 3 has been listed in 4G and 5G variants, both featuring a triple rear camera setup, in-display fingerprint sensor, and 2.96GHz octa-core processor”
Vivo NEX 3 specifications are out in the open now thanks to TENAA listings for both the 4G and 5G variants of the device. The leaked Vivo NEX 3 specifications show the smartphone will be a true flagship, with features such as a 6.89-inch display, 4,410mAh battery, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, and a 64MP primary sensor on the back. The Vivo NEX 3 4G and 5G variants are listed under the model numbers V1923A/T and V1924A/T, respectively. The accompanying images in the two TENAA listings show the rear camera will protrude slightly on the back, while the rest of the design is in line with what we have seen in official sketches and leaked live images.
The Vivo NEX 3 specifications revealed via the TENAA listing include a 6.89-inch AMOLED screen with full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,256 pixels) resolution and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It will be powered by an octa-core processor with 2.96GHz clock speed; considering the new Snapdragon 855 Plus has that clock speed, we can safely assume the upcoming smartphone will feature the latest and greatest Qualcomm chipset. Running Android 9 Pie, the handset will come in 8GB and 12GB RAM options and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage variants.
On the camera front, the Vivo NEX 3 gets a triple rear camera setup with a primary 64MP sensor and 13MP sensors. In the front is a 16MP selfie sensor. The battery is listed at a huge 4,410mAh capacity; it is listed to have fast-charging support but doesn’t mention the maximum capacity, though we already know it will be an unprecedented 120W. The smartphone will weigh 218.5 grams and dimensions will be 167.44 x 76.18 x 9.4mm. Interestingly, both the 4G and 5G listings say the handset will come in Gold colour — however, the accompanying images show the former will come in dark blue colour, while the latter will have a light blue hue with metallic tinge and grey accents on the sides.
From the official sketches and teasers, we already know Vivo NEX 3 will introduce a new ‘waterfall’ screen design that will provide a 99.6 percent screen-to-body ratio, the highest yet on a smartphone. There will, of course, be no notch as a pop-up module will be home to the selfie camera. Another interesting aspect of the smartphone will be its button-less design — there will be pressure-sensitive buttons on the body and a textured Power key. Surprisingly enough, the 3.5mm audio jack is making a comeback with NEX 3. The smartphone will be announced officially in September, though no date has been finalised just yet.
