“The Vivo NEX S2 teasers confirm triple rear cameras and a secondary display on the back panel”
Vivo’s next-gen NEX series smartphone — the NEX S2 — is tipped to launch on December 11th in China. The alleged handset has been doing the rounds of the interwebs quite a bit lately. Now, a Weibo user has gone ahead and revealed that the Chinese OEM will reportedly take the wraps off the device next week. It further confirms that the successor to the Vivo NEX (review) will flaunt triple-rear camera setup and dual displays — one on front and the other at the back — just like the recently-launched nubia X.
The official teasers of the upcoming Vivo NEX smartphone were also shared alongside on the Weibo post. It reveals that the handset will come with an all-display fascia without any bezels or the notch. It’ll look just like its predecessor but only from the front. The rear panel of the Vivo NEX S2 seems to sport a secondary display, which is rumoured to be slightly smaller — at 16:9 aspect ratio — than the primary one. Furthermore, the device is likely to come with circular triple rear cameras as and a night vision mode to improve low-light photography as per the teaser.
The specifications of the Vivo NEX S2 is scarce, but what we do know is that it’ll come with 3D Time-of-Field (ToF) sensor for better depth of field in portrait mode or for enabling augmented and virtual reality (AR and VR) experiences. Since the handset is expected to come with dual displays, it’s likely to ditch the front camera and rely on rear cameras for clicking selfies.
Apart from this, we don’t know anything else about the Vivo NEX S2; however, we can expect it to come with flagship-grade specs when it launches.
