Vivo S1 smartphone is likely to launch in India on August 7th. The company has started rolling out press invites for its event in the country where it’ll be taking the wraps off the new S series phone. As exclusively reported by 91mobiles previously, the upcoming S series handset will be nothing but the Vivo S1 smartphone that was also recently launched in Indonesia. The phone is the world’s first smartphone with MediaTek Helio P65 SoC ticking at its core. The Vivo S1 also rocks a Halo-notch display, AMOLED panel, in-display fingerprint scanner, and a beefy battery.
The Vivo S1 will most likely be a mid-range offering in India. The handset’s price in India is tipped to be Rs 17,990 for the base 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. It is also expected to come with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, which is likely to be priced around Rs 20,000. The phone may come in at least two colour models – Sky Blue and Dark Blue with a pattern.
Vivo S1 specifications
The Indonesian version of Vivo S1 boots FunTouch OS 9 with Android 9 Pie out of the box. The handset sports a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with a notch up top. The screen bears Full HD+ (1,080 x 2,340) resolution and in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by Helio P65 mobile platform coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage, which is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. For photography, there is 16-megapixel Sony IMX499 sensor, f/1.78 aperture + 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide sensor, f/2.2 aperture + 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture on the rear. The front camera gets an impressive 32-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
In terms of connectivity, the Vivo S1 packs dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS, micro USB port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone measures 159.53 × 75.23 × 8.13mm and weighs 179 grams; and a whopping 4,500mAh battery with fast charging support rounds off its specs sheet.
