Vivo S1 India launch officially teased

Vivo S1 mid-range smartphone was reported to launch in India on August 15th at a starting price of Rs 17,990. Now, amidst the reports, Vivo for the first time has officially teased the S series launch in India soon. Unfortunately, the promotional video doesn’t reveal a launch date or features of the handset just yet. Since the reported Vivo S1 launch date is still a month away from now, one can expect the brand to disclose more details going forward. For those unaware, the Vivo S1 smartphone was launched in Indonesia a couple of days ago and is the world’s first smartphone to come with MediaTek’s Helio P65 processor.

The Vivo S1 is expected to be available in two variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB and 6GB RAM + 128GB. The former model is said to be priced at Rs 17,990 in the country, while the pricing of the latter is currently kept under wraps. The Vivo S1 handset will go on pre-order in India in early August and go on sale starting August 15th. It will be available in two colour models – Sky Blue and Dark Blue.

To recall, the Vivo S1 sports a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P65 SoC with Mali-G52 GPU. In terms of optics, the handset features a triple rear camera setup with 16MP + 8MP + 2MP and a 32MP selfie shooter on the front. The handset boots Android 9.0 Pie-based Funtouch 9.0 OS. A massive 4,500mAh battery fuels the handset. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, microUSB port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
