Vivo has finally launched its Vivo S12 series of smartphones in China. The Vivo S12 series comprises of two smartphones – the Vivo S12 and the Vivo S12 Pro. Both devices come equipped with MediaTek Dimensity processors and flaunt a 108MP main camera. Furthermore, the Vivo S12 and Vivo S12 Pro feature AMOLED displays and come with Android 11-based OriginOS skin out of the box. Vivo S12 and Vivo S12 Pro: Prices, availability

Starting with the vanilla Vivo S12, the device comes in two variants – the one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage is priced at CNY 2,799 (or around Rs 33,180) and the one with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 2,999 (or around Rs 35,550).

Coming to the Vivo S12 Pro, the device starts at CNY 3,399 (around Rs 40,290) for 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant, while the top-of-the-line 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at CNY 3,699 (around Rs 43,850).

Vivo S12 Pro: Specifications

Starting with the display of the device, the Vivo S12 Pro sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, 90Hz refresh rate, and 20:9 aspect ratio. The device’s display has HDR10+ certification.

Powering the Vivo S12 Pro is an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor, which is clubbed with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS3.1 storage. In terms of software, the Vivo S12 Pro boots Android 11– based OriginOS skin out of the box.

For photography, the Vivo S12 Pro features a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 108MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with a 119-degree field of view, and a 2MP macro lens. At the front, the device has a dual selfie camera system, which consists of a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera with a 105-degree field of view.

In terms of battery life, the Vivo S12 Pro has a 4,300mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port. The device measures 159.46 x 73.27 x 7.36mm and weighs in at 171 grams.

Coming to the vanilla Vivo S12, the device features a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 2,400 x 1,080 pixel resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Much like its Pro sibling, the Vivo S12 also comes with HDR10+ certification.

Under the hood, the Vivo S12 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1100 processor, which is clubbed with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage.

In terms of optics, the device features the same rear camera setup as the Vivo S12 Pro, but things are a bit different at the front, as the Vivo S12 has a 44MP main front camera and an 8MP ultra-wide front camera.

Coming to the battery of the device, the Vivo S12 sports a 4,200mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. The device measures 157.20 x 72.67 x 7.39mm and weighs in at 179 grams. The device comes in Gold, Black, and Blue color variants.
