The Vivo S20 series is expected to debut in China soon. The lineup may include the standard model and the S20 Pro variant. We have recently come across the TENAA and 3C listings of the alleged Vivo S20, revealing the key hardware details. While we wait for the official announcement from the brand regarding the launch, tipster DigitalChatStation on Weibo has shared the specifications of a possible Vivo S20 Pro, without explicitly mentioning the moniker.
The Vivo S-series is the brand’s mid-range offering with a focus on performance and superior cameras.
Possible Vivo S20 Pro specifications tipped
- The tipster says the alleged Vivo S20 Pro (via GizmoChina) will have a 6.67-inch 1.5K quad-curved LTPS display with 2800X1260 pixels resolution. For comparison, this is slightly smaller than the 6.78-inch panel on the predecessor.
- Regarding the processor, the handset is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC, which is a good upgrade from the Dimensity 9200+ on the Vivo S19 Pro.
- The possible Vivo S20 Pro could feature a 50MP IMX921 primary camera + 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens + 50MP IMX882 3x periscope telephoto lens. It is tipped to get a 50MP front camera.
- For comparison, the Vivo S19 Pro featured a 50MP + 8MP UW + 50MP telephoto triple camera setup.
- The Vivo S20 Pro is tipped to get a 5500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support (also confirmed via 3C certification), which is a marginal upgrade from 80W on the predecessor.
- The phone is said to feature a short-focus optical fingerprint sensor for security.
- Lastly, DCS says the Vivo S20 Pro will arrive as an “ultra-thin camera flagship.” This suggests the phone will have a slim form factor.
The vanilla Vivo S20 could also be debuting alongside the Pro variant. This is said to come with a 1.5K OLED display with flat edges, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, a large 6,500mAh battery, and 50MP + 8MP dual camera sensors on the back and a 50MP shooter on the front.
While the exact date is not leaked out yet, the Vivo S20 series is tipped to debut later this month. If it’s indeed true, we may see official teasers soon. The Vivo S-series is limited to China but the models are rebranded under V-series for some global markets, including India with some minor changes. We can expect the company might follow the same pattern for the S20 series as well.
