Vivo’s new Vivo T3 Pro offers some truly eye-catching features with a not-so-jaw-dropping price tag. At Rs 24,999, the phone offers a slim design, a large 5,500mAh battery with 80W charging, and a 3D AMOLED curved display. It also draws power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which already features in a bunch of performance-focused devices, including iQOO Z9s Pro and OnePlus Nord CE4.
However, if you seek performance and a clean Android OS interface, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2-powered Motorola Edge 50 Fusion (review) is one of the options available in the segment. Both smartphones also offer a vegan leather finish on the back.
Here’s a dedicated performance comparison between the Vivo T3 Pro and Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.
Table of Contents
Geekbench
Before we start, readers must note that we are using the top variants of the Vivo T3 Pro with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB USF 2.1 storage (Rs 26,999) and Motorola Edge 50 Fusion with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM (Rs 24,999).
If you select the more affordable storage options, there might be slight differences in benchmark scores, but nothing significant.
In Geekbench’s single and multi-core tests, the Vivo T3 Pro with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC showed superiority over the Edge 50 Fusion with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.
Smartphone | Vivo T3 Pro | Motorola Edge 50 Fusion |
Geekbench single-core | 1147 | 1020 |
Geekbench multi-core | 3117 | 2945 |
The scores suggest that the Vivo T3 Pro may handle basic (app load and general scrolling) and intense (gaming, video recording, and so on) more efficiently. Notably, Vivo achieved this score despite having less RAM configuration, while both smartphones are leveraging the LPDDR4X standard.
Winner: Vivo T3 Pro
AnTuTu
The AnTuTu app is a go-to benchmarking platform for many as it considers parameters such as GPU, memory, and user interface. The general rule is the higher the score, the better it is.
Smartphone | Vivo T3 Pro | Motorola Edge 50 Fusion |
AnTuTu | 812119 | 620648 |
The Vivo T3 Pro continued its winning spell in our synthetic benchmarks. It achieved an overall score of 812119, while the Edge 50 Fusion secured 620648 points.
Winner: Vivo T3 Pro
CPU Throttle
We used the Burnout to test the chipset’s performance under heavy load. Motorola has aced this test in the past against the Realme 13+ (review). The trend continues this time as well.
Smartphone | Vivo T3 Pro | Motorola Edge 50 Fusion |
CPU Throttle via Burnout | 67.9 percent | 76.5 percent |
The Vivo T3 Pro offered 67.9 percent stability at peak performance, while the Edge 50 Fusion stood at 76.5 percent. The Realme 13 Pro (review), which also draws power from the Snapdragon 7s Gen2 SoC, exhibited a similar performance (77 percent stability at peak performance) in the same CPU Throttle test via the Burnout app.
Winner: Motorola Edge 50 Fusion
Gaming
While the Vivo T3 Pro showcased its superiority in the synthetic benchmarks, it vastly depends on how the smartphone performs in real-life conditions. For our gaming test, we played Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and Call of Duty (COD) on Vivo T3 Pro and Motorola Edge 50 Fusion for 30 minutes each. We are monitoring the temperature change at the beginning and end of the gaming rounds.
At the end of the BGMI round, the Vivo T30 Pro’s internal temperature increased by 3.8 degrees Celcius, and the Edge 50 temperature rose by 7.5 degrees Celcius. After 30 minutes of COD playtime, the temperature change on both phones was recorded at 3.1 degrees Celcius and 7.2 degrees Celcius, respectively.
Gaming | Vivo T3 Pro | Motorola Edge 50 Fusion | |
BGMI | Temp increase | 3.8 degrees Celcius | 7.5 degrees Celcius |
COD | Temp increase | 3.1 degrees Celcius | 7.2 degrees Celcius |
Both the Vivo T3 Pro and the Edge 50 Fusion feature a curved AMOLED display, which can occasionally lead to mistouches. Notably, the T3 Pro offers “extreme+” frame rates (90fps) at smooth graphics, a feature not yet available on the Edge 50 Fusion. The T3 Pro also provided decently consistent frame rates during our tests. However, the Realme 13+ delivers more stable performance in BGMI.
Winner: Vivo T3 Pro
Verdict
Based on our tests, the Vivo T3 Pro with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 emerged as the winner. In that case, for performance, the Vivo T3 Pro is a solid choice, though Motorola offers a much cleaner Android interface.
Additionally, the Edge 50 Fusion is promised 3 years of major OS updates, while the T3 Pro will get only two major software updates.
