The Vivo T4 5G has been launched in India, succeeding the Vivo T3, with a bold claim — it’s the slimmest smartphone in the country to house a massive battery. At its core lies the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, but how well does it actually perform in real-world scenarios? To find out, we compared the new Vivo T4 5G with a strong rival: the Realme Narzo 80 Pro 5G, which features the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC. We put both devices through a series of synthetic benchmarks and practical, day-to-day usage tests. Here’s our in-depth comparison.
Verdict
- AnTuTu test: The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 powering the Vivo T4 has a higher clock speed than the Realme Narzo 80 Pro’s MediaTek Dimensity 7400. This is evident in the AnTuTu benchmark, where the Vivo T4 scored around 11.5 percent higher than the Realme Narzo 80 Pro. This can be credited to the Vivo T4’s higher CPU frequency, better GPU, and cleaner OS.

- Geekbench test: To get a general idea of the device’s performance, the Geekbench app runs a single-core test for light tasks and a multi-core test for heavy tasks like gaming or editing. The faster Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 shows its might in this benchmark also, as it was around 12 percent faster in both single and multi-core tests.

- Burnout test: The benchmark tests above give us an idea of the device’s general performance, but not how it performs under prolonged, intense usage. To gauge the device’s sustained performance, we ran the Burnout app, which performs a strenuous test for 8 minutes to induce CPU throttling and measure performance dropoff, on both devices. The Vivo T4 manages to perform better under heavy load with higher sustained performance.

- Gaming test: When you play gaming titles on a smartphone, it’s natural for the device to heat up after a while; all smartphones do. That said, the lower the temperature increase while gaming, the better the gaming performance of the smartphone will be. We played COD: Mobile, Real Racing 3, and BGMI on both smartphones for a total of 90 minutes at identical settings and measured the temperature increase after each gaming session. In this department, the Realme Narzo 80 Pro comes on top with much better thermal management, which was 3 times cooler than the Vivo T4 after the 90-minute gaming session.
Smartphone | Overall temperature increases after 90 minutes of gaming |
Vivo T4 | 21.2 degrees Celsius |
Realme Narzo 80 Pro | 7 degrees Celsius |
The Vivo T4 starts in India at Rs 21,999, whereas the Realme Narzo 80 Pro starts at Rs 19,999. If you are looking for a solid performer, then the Vivo T4 is the better option between these two, based on our testing and benchmark scores. The raw power delivered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 will come in clutch when playing intensive games or doing resource-hungry tasks like video editing.
On the other hand, if you are looking for sustained and consistent performance instead of raw power, the Realme Narzo 80 Pro is the one to pick. The smartphone offers impressive thermal management and will perform amicably over a prolonged duration.
