Vivo has launched a new mid-range smartphone in India, joining its popular T5 series. The Vivo T5 comes with a slim curved design, a horizontal camera module, and a large 6.83-inch display. It’s the fifth phone in the lineup after the Vivo T5x, Vivo T5 Pro, Vivo T5 Lite, and Vivo T5e. The Vivo T5 sits below the T5 Pro, making it one of the more premium offerings in the lineup.
Vivo T5 price in India, availability
Vivo T5 starts at Rs 34,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The handset comes in two more variants with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It’s set to go on sale on September 9th at 12 pm via Flipkart. You can get the Vivo T5 in Silver Green and Royal Bronze colours.

Vivo T5 specifications
The Vivo T5 features a large 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and up to 2,000 nits HBM brightness. The curved screen should give an immersive experience when watching content, while the 144Hz refresh rate adds a smooth scrolling experience and animations. Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset, which is also found on the recently launched iQOO Z11. The mid-range chipset should deliver capable performance for everyday tasks, gaming, and such. It’s worth mentioning, though, that alternatives like the Motorola Edge 70 Pro offer a faster Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset.
The handset packs a 7,050mAh battery and is also claimed to be the slimmest Vivo phone with a 7,000mAh+ cell. This battery capacity should last an entire day comfortably and possibly more. Vivo also says the T5 can deliver up to 85 hours of music playback and 7.9 hours of gaming. For photography, you get a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera at the back. There’s a 32MP front camera for selfies on the Vivo T5.
On the software front, the Vivo T5 runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box. The handset will get three years of OS updates and five years of security updates, which is pretty good for this segment. The Vivo T5 also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
If your priority is an all-day battery, a vibrant curved display, and solid software support in the mid-range, the Vivo T5 is a compelling option. However, if you’re upgrading from an older mid-range phone or prioritise versatile cameras, you might want to wait for comprehensive reviews or consider alternatives at a slightly higher price point.
