Vivo expected to showcase its on-screen fingerprint sensor at MWC Shanghai

“Vivo could unveil a smartphone with a fingerprint sensor below the display”

There has been a lot of talk about taking the smartphone’s fingerprint sensor to the next level by embedding it under the display. Both Samsung and Apple are expected to make use of this technology, but now it seems like Chinese handset maker Vivo will actually be the first to do so.

Vivo has released a teaser for MWC Shanghai showing a fingerprint embedded in what appears to be a display panel. It is not yet known if Vivo will be launching a handset with this feature, or simply showcasing the tech through a prototype. MWC Shanghai kicks off on June 28th, and we’ll be on the floor to bring you all the latest updates.
