“The Vivo V15 will be a slightly affordable version of the Vivo V15 Pro that was recently launched in the country”
After announcing the mid-range Vivo V15 Pro (review) smartphone, Vivo is set to announce its other big smartphone, the Vivo V15. Now, a source familiar with the company’s plans has told 91mobiles that the V15 India launch event will be held on February 25th. The handset will be a watered down version of the V15 Pro, but it’ll have some common threads, such as an all-display fascia and a pop-up selfie camera. As for the price, we’ve been tipped that the Vivo V15 price in India will be around Rs 22,000 – Rs 25,000.
Vivo V15 specifications
Unlike the Vivo V15 Pro, the Vivo V15 will have a 6.39-inch LCD screen (instead of an AMOLED panel) and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The handset will flaunt a 32-megapixel camera on the front, just like its sibling; however, the triple cameras on the back will feature a 24-megapixel primary shooter instead of 48-megapixel Samsung sensor. The source hinted at a camera setup that works similar to the pixel binning tech that uses four 12-megapixel images to stitch a 48-megapixel shot, but it is not clear how it will work in 24-megapixel. It’ll be accompanied by an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter and a 5-megapixel depth-sensing lens.
As we reported exclusive, the Vivo V15 will have a will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 processor. The phonemaker is expected to offer the device with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The software and battery details are vague at the moment, but it’s most likely be Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS and 3,700mAh battery with fast charging tech respectively.
The Vivo V15 Pro, on the other hand, rocks a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 chipset, which is mated with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The handset has been priced in India at Rs 28,990 and will be available for sale starting March 6th onwards.
