The Vivo V17 Pro smartphone has gone official in India at an event in New Delhi today. The successor to Vivo V15 Pro flaunts the same bezel-less display but sports dual selfie cameras that retract from the top edge via a pop-up mechanism. This makes the Vivo V17 Pro the first smartphone in India to come with pop-up dual selfie cameras. The rear camera of the Vivo V17 Pro has quad sensors, including 48-megapixel primary sensor and 8-megapixel macro lens for taking photographs unusually close to the subject. At the V17 Pro’s core lies the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB user expandable storage. The entire setup is driven by a beefy battery, backed by fast charging support.

Vivo V17 Pro price in India has been set at Rs 29,990 for the sole 8GB + 128GB configuration. Pre-bookings for the handset start today and the handset goes on sale on September 27th. It will be available to purchase both online via Amazon.in, Flipkart, Vivo India E-Store as well as offline via large format stores. 10 percent cashback on transactions made using debit and credit cards issued by ICICI and HDFC Bank as well as on EMI transactions on HDFC Bank cards. Customers purchasing the handset by October 8th will get one-time free screen replacement.
Vivo V17 Pro specifications
The Vivo V17 Pro comes with a 6.59-inch Super AMOLED screen, which the vendor likes to call Ultra-FullView display. The display bears Full HD+ (1,080 x 2,400p) resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and in-display fingerprint scanner that is claimed to be faster than the previous-gen sensor. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 675 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB user-expandable storage onboard. The V17 Pro runs Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS 9.1 out of the box and houses a 4,100mAh battery with 18W Dual-Engine fast charging support.
In the camera department, the Vivo V17 Pro sports a quad-camera setup, which comprises a 48-megapixel Sony IMX 582 (f/1.8) primary sensor + 8-megapixel (f/2.2) Super Wide-Angle lens + 2-megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensor + 13-megapixel (f/2.5) telephoto lens with 2x zoom. The cameras support Vivo’s AI algorithm to further enhance the results, 10x zoom, and a bunch of modes such as Super Night mode, Super Macro mode, and bokeh mode. The dual front cameras get 32-megapixel + 8-megapixel sensors with f/2.0 and f/2.2 lens, respectively, and features such as Super Night selfie, Super wide-angle photos and videos, AI makeup, and Pose master filter with lighting effect.
The phone has Gorilla Glass 6, assistant face unlock, and connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, the Vivo V17 Pro measures 150 x 74.70 x 9.8mm and weighs 201.8 grams.
