A mysterious Vivo smartphone with a V2056A model number has surfaced on Geekbench with some key specifications. The benchmarking platform reveals the smartphone comes with the motherboard code-named ‘lahaina’, which is linked to the newly-announced Snapdragon 888 chipset. The Vivo V2056A scores 1,135 points on Geekbench’s single-core test and 3,681 points in the multi-core test, suggesting a powerful device. Additionally, the Geekbench listing reveals the phone will come with 12GB RAM and Android 11 out of the box. While the name hasn’t been revealed yet, the Vivo V2056A phone could be part of the rumoured X60 series or iQOO 7 series.

The Geekbench listing suggests the Vivo V2056A will launch soon and will be among the early Snapdragon 888-powered devices. Qualcomm announced its next-gen flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC on Tuesday and it comes with a 3rd generation Snapdragon X60 5G Modem-RF system for global compatibility of 5G mmWave and Sub-6 across all major bands worldwide and has support for 5G carrier aggregation, global multi-SIM, standalone, non-standalone, and dynamic spectrum sharing.

Vivo V2056A could be among the early Snapdragon 888-powered devices that are expected to launch in Q1 2021

Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO, OnePlus, and more have partnered with Qualcomm to launch Snapdragon 888-powered phones in early 2021.  Xiaomi and Realme both have confirmed that their first smartphones with the chipset will be called Mi 11 and Realme Race, respectively. We now wait for Vivo to reveal the name (whether it is part of the Vivo X60 series or iQOO 7 series or something else) of the Vivo V2056A device that has just appeared on Geekbench. The launch dates for these phones haven’t been announced yet.
