Vivo V27 is the latest premium mid-ranger from the company. It was launched in India alongside its Pro sibling. The smartphone has a unique design that changes colour when in contact with direct bright light. Besides its flashy design, the device is well-spec’d for its price, which starts at Rs 32,999. At this price point, there’s another device from Vivo’s subsidiary brand, iQOO, worth considering, the iQOO Neo 7. In this article, we’ll compare the Vivo V27 with the iQOO Neo 7.
Vivo V27 vs iQOO Neo 7: price in India and availability
The all-new Vivo V27 retails at a starting price of Rs 32,999 in India for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The higher-end 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant cost Rs 36,999. On the other hand, the iQOO Neo 7 ships with a Rs 29,999 price tag in India for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option, and the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage unit is available at Rs 33,999.
While the iQOO Neo 7 is available to purchase via Amazon and the company’s official website, you’ll have to wait until March 23rd to get your hand on the Vivo V27. The difference between the Indian pricing of the Vivo V27 and iQOO Neo 7 is Rs 4,000, with the V27 being the more expensive one.

Design
The Vivo V27 and iQOO Neo 7 are made out of very different materials. The iQOO Neo 7 has a curved plastic back that houses the company’s logo at the bottom and a square camera island featuring a triple camera setup with two lenses tucked in a circular module while the third sits above the LED flash.
You get two colour options for the iQO Neo 7: Interstellar Black and Frost Blue. It’s a tall smartphone with 164.8 x 76.9 x 8.6 mm dimensions, but it should feel easy to hold, as it only weighs 193 grams.
While the iQOO Neo 7 has simple and sophisticated aesthetics, the Vivo V27 takes a completely different approach: its curved glass back panel changes colour when exposed to bright light, making it more premium than the iQOO Neo 7. This colour-shifting rear is available in two colourways: Noble Black and Magic Blue.
The device houses a rectangular camera island at the rear, featuring a triple camera setup and an LED flash. While the Vivo V27 is equally tall with 164.1 × 74.8 × 7.4 mm dimensions, it’s a bit lighter, weighing only 180 grams, and overall slimmer than the iQOO Neo 7.
Display
The Vivo V27 and iQOO Neo 7 have 1080p displays with the same 20:9 aspect ratio and size. The V27 has a curved 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a hole-punch camera set in the top middle of the screen and thin symmetric bezels, while the Neo 7 has a flat 6.78-inch AMOLED display with its hole-punch camera in the corner and thin bezel besides thick bottom chin.
Both devices support a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, up to 1300 nits peak brightness, 388PPI density, an optical under-display fingerprint scanner, and an always-on display if you choose to enable it. Neither of these two devices has any Corning Gorilla Glass protection layer on top.
Software
The Vivo V27 Pro runs Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13 out of the box. The company promised to provide two major Android updates and three years of security patches for the V27, meaning it will get software updates until Android 15.
Since iQOO is Vivo’s subsidiary, it closely follows Vivo’s footsteps, meaning iQOO will also offer two major Android updates and three years of security patches for the Neo 7. The device also runs on Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13 out of the box and will get software updates until Android 15.
Performance
In the performance department, the Vivo V27 draws power from MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC clocked at 2800MHz and fabricated on the 4nm process. It features Mali-G610 MC4 GPU, 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The chipset scores 7,94,531 points on the AnTuTu benchmark, and in Geenbech, it secures 851 points in single-core and 2,281 points in multi-core tests.
On the other hand, the iQOO Neo 7 packs a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC clocked at 3100MHz and fabricated on the 4nm process. It ships with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU, 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage, a 2,392mm² vapour chamber, and multi-layer graphite 3D cooling systems. The phone achieves 8,54,741 points on the AnTuTu benchmark, and in Geenbech, it scores 994 points in single-core and 3,94 points in multi-core tests.
Battery and charging
With the Vivo V27, you get a 4,600mAh cell that supports 66W fast charging, which should be enough to last a whole day of usage. The company claims its 66W charger gives you 50% battery with just 19 minutes of charge. We’ll have to check this claim, so stay tuned for our in-depth review.
The iQOO Neo 7 packs a bigger 5,000mAh battery that supports an even faster 120W charging speed, which fully charged the device within 27 minutes during our testing. The device scored around 18 hours on PCMark’s Battery test.
Whichever device you choose, they’re both all-day phones, or even more.
Cameras
The Vivo V27 packs a 50MP front-facing snapper and a triple rear camera setup: 50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro lenses. On the other hand, you get a 16MP selfie shooter and a triple rear camera setup on the iQOO Neo 7: a 64MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth lens. The Vivo V27 can capture up to 4K videos at 60fps, while the iQOO Neo 7 maxes out at 4K resolution at 30fps.
Again, without testing out the cameras in a real-world scenario, it’s hard to tell which phone has a better photography capability by just looking at both phones’ camera’s megapixel count. However, the iQOO has a better primary shooter than the V27, which should, at least on paper, result in more detailed photos.
