Vivo V40 series global launch imminent, appears on IMEI database

Earlier this week, Vivo introduced the Vivo X100 Ultra, Vivo X100s, and the Vivo X100s Pro smartphones in China, expanding their flagship X-series lineup with some watered-down (X100s series) and another top-end (X100 Ultra) model. Back in March, the first V40 series phone was launched, dubbed the Vivo V40 SE. Now, the Vivo V40 has been spotted on the IMEI database, courtesy of Gizmochina.

Vivo V40 series model numbers revealed

  • The Vivo V40 series is expected to include three models: the Vivo V40, Vivo V40 Pro, and Vivo V40e. The marketing names of phones are confirmed by the IMEI database.
  • Like with other V-series offerings, the upcoming V40 lineup could also focus more on cameras and aesthetics to cater to millennials.
  • The Vivo V40 Pro has appeared on the database with the model number V2347.
  • On the other hand, the standard Vivo V40 has appeared in the database with the model number V2348. At the same time, the Vivo V40e has the model number B2403.

Vivo V40 series: what to expect from the phones

91mobiles Hindi exclusively reported the Vivo V40 models will launch sometime between August and September 2024. To recall, the Vivo V30 series debuted earlier this year. Vivo V40 Pro was also recently spotted on UK carrier EE’s website. This revealed the phone will arrive in two versions: one with NFC and the other without. No other details are revealed through the listing at the moment.

Besides the Vivo V40 Pro, V40, and V40e, there is also a Vivo V40 Lite in the works. This particular model was spotted on Bluetooth SIG and the Global Certification Forum (GCF). The former revealed the phone will bear the model number V2341 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. There are reports the phone is already under testing internally by Vivo engineers and is believed to come with a better processor and improved cameras.
