Vivo is all set to launch a new member in the V40 family, the Vivo V40e, in India today, i.e September 25th. It will be the third phone in the Vivo V40 lineup and come as a successor to the Vivo V30e that launched in India in May this year. Thanks to leaks and official teasers we know a lot about the device ahead of its release. It will bring a new slim design and hardware upgrades over its predecessor. The Vivo V40e is officially confirmed to launch in India on September 25th at 12 PM. The launch event can be viewed on the link embedded below:
Vivo has also announced that the device will be purchasable from Flipkart and the company’s official website. The device will come in two shades: Royal Bronze and Mint Green.
Vivo V40e price in India (expected)
The rumour mill suggests that the Vivo V40e will retail between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 in India for the base model. To recall, the Vivo V30e launched with a starting price of Rs 27,999. We can expect a similar starting price for the Vivo V40e.

The company has officially revealed some key hardware details of the Vivo V40e on its official website.
- Display: The Vivo V40e will flaunt a 6.77-inch 3D curved display that supports a Full-HD+ (2392×1080) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10, P3 colour Gamut, and a 93.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. In comparison, the Vivo V30e has a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED panel.
- Battery, charging: Powering the device will be a 5,500mAh battery, the same as the Vivo V30e, with 80W fast charging support, up from the Vivo V30e’s 44W charging speed.
- Camera: The Vivo V40e will feature a dual rear camera setup, housing a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with 2x portrait mode and an 8MP ultrawide lens, along with an Aura Light. On the front, it will have a 50MP eye-AF sensor for selfies and video calls. Thus, the camera setup is the same as its predecessor.
- AI features: It will come with support for a few AI features such as AI Photo Enhancer, AI Eraser, and more.
Unfortunately, the remaining specifications of the Vivo V40e are still under wraps. However, according to rumours, we can expect it to pack a MediaTek Dimesnity 7300 SoC paired with at least 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, an upgrade over the Vivo V30e’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC.
Vivo V40e design
In terms of design, the Vivo V40e resembles the Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro. The phone has an Infinity Eye Camera Module Design on the back, which includes two lenses, an Aura Light, and an LED flash. On the other hand, the front has a punch-hole display with curved edges. Meanwhile, the power and volume buttons are on the right side of the phone. According to the company’s website, the Vivo V40e would measure 0.749 cm thick and weigh 183 grams.
Vivo V40e alternatives
If the Vivo V40e indeed launches under the Rs 30,000 price segment, it will have quite a few rivals lined up. It will go up against the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, the Motorola Edge 50, and the OnePlus Nord 4 available under Rs 30,000 in India.
