Vivo has officially confirmed the launch of its next-generation foldable, the Vivo X Fold 6. The announcement comes after several leaks of the Vivo X Fold 6 surfaced online, giving us an idea of what to expect from the foldable. There’s no launch date yet, but the Vivo X Fold 6 is confirmed to launch in China this month. It will succeed the Vivo X Fold 5, which debuted last year with a large 6,000mAh battery.

Vivo X Fold 6 China launch teased

Vivo’s product manager Han Boxiao confirmed the launch of the X Fold 6 through a post on Weibo. It was shared with a teaser image but without revealing the device’s design. Boxiao did share some details about what to expect from Vivo’s foldable this time. The inner display has been designed for five uses, giving it a wider field of view for the main task and higher utilisation of the split-screen layout. The foldable is also said to have been deeply optimised for smooth scheduling, multiple apps can run simultaneously, and switching between windows will be very smooth.

Vivo X Fold 6 design revealed

Although not officially revealed, images of the Vivo X Fold 6 were captured at the French Open in Paris, where Chinese actress Zhu Zhu was seen using the foldable. It carries the same design language as its predecessor, with a circular camera module. The smartphone is seen in a dark green colour with a gradient finish, which looks subtle yet premium at the same time.

Vivo X Fold 6: what to expect

The Vivo X Fold 6’s biggest upgrade could be the massive 7,000mAh battery. Even most flagship phones don’t offer 7,000mAh, and for this to arrive on a foldable would be a new benchmark. One should be able to get more than a day’s usage on the Vivo X Fold 6. The foldable could be powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset. With this chipset, the Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to deliver impressive performance for moderate to heavy tasks.

The upcoming Vivo foldable is also rumoured to feature a 200MP primary camera paired with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, offering one of the most capable camera setups in the segment.

With a large battery, flagship chipset, and versatile cameras, the Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to stand out as one of the leading foldables in the segment. If you’re currently using an older foldable, the rumoured battery and camera upgrades might make the X Fold 6 a compelling jump. We should still wait and see what the total package is and how the X Fold 6 would compare with rival foldables.
