Vivo isn’t done with its flagship lineup, as the final boss has yet to arrive. We’re talking about the Vivo X300 Ultra, which is poised to be the ultimate camera phone. Ahead of its debut, Vivo showcased the X300 Ultra at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The smartphone was teased with the Zeiss 400mm Extender Kit that’s set to debut alongside the X300 Ultra. The MWC reveal also confirms the global launch of the Vivo X300 Ultra.
The Vivo X300 Ultra was only showcased for people to see it at MWC, but not experience it. A 400mm Zeiss Telephoto Extender Kit was attached to the phone with the entire setup in a distinct white colour. This is a detachable photography kit for the X300 Ultra to enhance the phone’s zoom capabilities, which reportedly adds up to 17x optical zoom. In real-world scenarios, this is more than impressive for a smartphone, as a 400mm focal length lens is what you’d find on professional cameras, and for shooting scenarios like sports and even wildlife. It would also be double what the Vivo X200 Ultra can achieve with its telephoto converter kit.
The whole setup appears to include a dedicated case with a mount for a better grip while holding the phone and using the zoom lens. The overall look does feel similar to its predecessor, the X200 Ultra, but the white colour does add an extra flair to the X300 Ultra.
Vivo isn’t the only one pushing smartphone photography to new heights. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is also slated to make its debut soon. As seen in previous Ultra models, OPPO offers maximum photography prowess within the phone itself with a quad-camera setup and two periscope telephoto lenses. The Find X9 Ultra will also get an extender kit similar to the X300 Ultra.
Even without the telephoto extender kit, the Vivo X300 Ultra is expected to offer a robust camera system with a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. It’s also tipped to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship chipset and a 7,000mAh battery with a large 6.82-inch 2K OLED display up front. So, in addition to impressive cameras, the Vivo X300 Ultra still offers a solid package you’d expect from a flagship phone.
As the name suggests, the Vivo X300 Ultra is the top-end model in the lineup, featuring the X300 and X300 Pro. While Vivo has launched both of the flagships in India, there’s no official confirmation for the X300 Ultra yet. But there have been rumours of Vivo bringing the X300 Ultra in India. It’s going to carry a hefty price, though, possibly ranging between a whopping Rs 1,60,000 and Rs 1,70,000.
This makes it clear who the Vivo X300 Ultra is for. If you’re a big-time photography enthusiast and want incredible cameras on a phone, then the Vivo X300 Ultra might be for you. But be ready to shell out an extreme amount of money for this pocketable DSLR.
