Vivo X70 series specifications and launch date tipped

According to a new report from Gizmochina, Vivo will launch the Vivo X70 series in September this year in partnership with the Indian Premier League (IPL). As you might know, Vivo is the title sponsor for IPL 2021. The Indian Premier League this year, however, was suspended due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament is set to resume between September and October in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Considering that Vivo is the title sponsor for IPL and that the tournament is set to continue in September, it makes sense for the brand to launch the Vivo X70 series in September this year.

If Vivo is indeed planning to launch the Vivo X70 series during IPL, it is very much possible that the upcoming lineup of smartphones will make it to India as IPL is an Indian tournament after all. The publication also sheds some light on the Vivo X70 series specifications. According to it, the Vivo X70 series will be very similar to the Vivo X60 series and there won’t be any big changes between the two lineups. The report hints that the Vivo X70 series will stick with Qualcomm’s chipset, at least in India.

For reference, the Vivo X60 features a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and is available with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. You get Android 11 with Funtouch 11.1 out of the box. The device has a 48MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, and 13MP 2x telephoto cameras at the rear, and a 32MP selfie shooter. The Vivo X60 packs a 4,300mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
