- Vivo will host an event in September to launch the upcoming Vivo X series.
- Vivo X80 Pro+ is expected to launch at this event alongside a possible Vivo X80 Lite.
- Vivo X80 Pro+ will likely draw power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip.
Vivo will expand its X80 series with the addition of a new Vivo X80 device – likely the Vivo X80 Pro+ – is what the previous leak told us. Now, GSMArena has apparently learned about the September launch of the upcoming Vivo X series, citing a trustworthy industry source. Word on the internet is that Vivo might also introduce a Vivo X80 Lite alongside the Vivo X80 Pro+.
This also seems like Vivo’s Pro+ plan to steal the spotlight from Apple’s September event, where the latter will be launching the iPhone 14 lineup, and the Vivo X80 Pro+ will likely be the most worthy competitor from Vivo’s flagship lineup. The X80 series also helped Vivo bag the second spot in market shares for the premium segment in China, Q2 2022, right behind Apple.
Vivo X80 Pro+ specifications, price (expected)
The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro were launched at a starting price of Rs 54,999 and Rs 79,999, respectively. We can expect the Vivo X80 Pro+ to be upwards of that, since it will be the most premium phone in the lineup with better specs.
Vivo X80 Pro+ will likely draw power from the latest Qualcomm flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It could also retain the Zeiss-tuned cameras with OIS support and may feature a quad rear camera setup: 50MP primary, 48MP ultrawide, 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1, and 50MP ISOCELL JN2. We might finally see the long-rumored 200W fast charger on Vivo X80 Pro+, or at least a 120W (up from 80W) is what leaks suggest.
Since the Vivo X80 Pro recently got an Android 13 update, the upcoming Vivo X80 Pro+ might also run on the latest Android OS out of the box or bring it shortly after launch. Apart from this, we also expect a fast refresh rate AMOLED panel on Vivo X80 Pro+. Unfortunately, the remaining Vivo X80 Pro+’s specifications are still under wraps, but more could be revealed in the upcoming days.
