Vivo Y12 with triple rear cameras and 5,000mAh battery goes on sale in India, priced at Rs 12,490

Last month, 91mobiles exclusively reported that Vivo is planning to launch the budget Vivo Y12 smartphone in India. We also revealed the specs, images, and pricing details of the handset as well. The phone was supposed to go on sale in early June, but it didn’t happen. However, the device is now finally available to buy in major brick and mortar stores across the country as well as on Amazon India.

Vivo Y12 price in India

The Vivo Y12 comes in two RAM and storage configurations – 4GB RAM + 32GB and 3GB RAM + 64GB. We’ve learned that both the variants are priced at Rs 12,490. It’s worth mentioning that on Amazon India, only the 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant is up for grabs at the moments.

As for the specs, the Vivo Y12 is a budget offering with a waterdrop notch above the display and triple rear cameras. The phone features a 6.35-inch HD+ Halo FullView display bearing an aspect ratio of 19.3:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 89 percent. Powering the handset is a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor. The software side of things is handled by Funtouch OS 9.0 that’s based on Android 9 Pie. The handset also has an ultra-gaming mode that offers reduced frame-drop for a smoother gaming experience.

At the rear, the Vivo Y12 has a 13-megapixel primary camera, accompanied by an 8-megapixel wide-angle secondary snapper and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The AI triple camera module offers HDR and portrait imaging. For selfies and video calling, the handset has an 8-megapixel snapper with face beauty and portrait photos.

In terms of connectivity, the handset has dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (version not specified), and A-GPS with GLONASS. A 5,000mAh battery with intelligent power saving mode keeps the whole package alive. Lastly, the device has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security purposes.
