- Vivo Y12s launch in India seems to be around the corner
- The handset has allegedly received the BIS certification in India
- Key Vivo Y12s specifications have been revealed already
Vivo Y12s launch in India is expected soon as the handset allegedly passes through Indian certification site BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). The phone with model number V2026 was spotted on the BIS certification site by tipster Mukul Sharma. It is the same model that previously popped up on the Google Play Console listing back in September. Vivo Y12s specifications and design of the Indian variant is likely to be similar to the global version that was launched last month. The smartphone highlights a waterdrop display, a dual-camera setup housed in a rectangular module at the back, and the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, among other things. Vivo Y12s price in India remains a mystery at the moment, but it could cost around Rs 10,000 given its price in Hong Kong.
Vivo Y12s specifications
The Vivo Y12s runs Android 10-based FunTouch OS 11 out of the box and comes with dual SIM support. The handset sports a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the display’s waterdrop notch houses an 8MP selfie shooter. The handset has a dual-camera setup at the back, which includes a 13 MP, f/1.8 primary sensor and a 2 MP, f/2.4 secondary snapper, with LED flash. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, which is a decent upgrade from the MediaTek P22 chipset on the standard Y12. This is coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and support for a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
It’s worth mentioning that the handset is available in Vietnam with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. The Vivo Y12s packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
