“The Vivo Y15 will be a mid-range offering with triple rear cameras”
Last week, 91mobiles exclusively reported that Vivo is all set to release a new mid-range smartphone called the Y15 in India soon. In the report, we mentioned that the handset will be released under Rs 15,000. Now, we bring you the exact pricing of the upcoming Vivo offering. According to a Vivo India executive who wishes to remain anonymous, the Y15 (not to be confused with the 2013 model with the same name) will be launched in the country for Rs 14,990. In addition, we’ve learned that the brand is planning to release a new variant of the Vivo Y91 in India in the coming days.
The Vivo executive hasn’t revealed details regarding the exact availability and features of the Y15 in India at the moment. However, we earlier reported that the phone will arrive with a triple camera module at the back. We can expect the handset to be available in the country via major brick and mortar retail stores at some point later this month.
As for the new Vivo Y91 variant, the phone will arrive with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The new option will be priced at Rs 9,990 and will be available across channels in the country. The device was originally launched in January in a single 2GB / 32GB model. This one was released for Rs 10,990, but is now available for Rs 8,990.
Apart from the extra RAM, the new Vivo Y91 model offers the same specifications as the earlier model. The phone features a 6.22-inch Halo FullView display with HD+ resolution. The handset is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor and boots Funtouch OS 4.5 based on Android Oreo. The camera features include a dual 13MP + 2MP camera module at the rear and an 8MP front shooter. A 4,030mAh battery completes the list of the features.
