[Exclusive]: Vivo Y81i with a display notch launched in India for Rs 8,490

Just a couple of weeks ago, 91mobiles exclusively reported that Vivo is all set to launch the Y81i smartphone in the country. Now today, we’ve learned from our retail sources that the company has finally released the Vivo Y81i in India. The phone has arrived as a budget offering with a notch above the screen and a MediaTek Helio A22 processor. The Y81i has been launched as a variant of the Vivo Y81, which was released in August this year.

According to our source, the Vivo Y81i has been priced competitively in India at Rs 8,490. The latest Vivo offering will be available via major brick and mortar stores across the country.

As per our tipster, the Vivo Y81i comes with a 6.22-inch FullView display featuring minimal bezels. The Android 8.1 Oreo-powered offering is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 processor. The phone features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The smartphone has a dimension of 155.06 x 75.0 x 7.77mm, and is fuelled by a 3,260mAh battery. At the rear, the device gets a 13-megapixel camera. Unfortunately, the dual-SIM device ditches a fingerprint scanner in favour of software-based Face Unlock functionality.

Notably, the Vivo Y81i’s successor, the Y81 was launched in the country for Rs 12,990. The phone comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS screen with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The smartphone sports a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, accompanied by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which can be further increased up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card. The handset features a 13MP rear camera, aided by f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. For selfies, you get a 5MP front shooter. A 3,260mAh battery completes the list of the specifications.
