Vivo’s budget offering the Vivo Y91 that was launched earlier this year has alleged received a price cut in India. As per Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, the Vivo Y91 price in India is Rs 9,990 now, down from its original price tag of Rs 10,990. Vivo is yet to officially confirm the development, but — at the time of writing the article — major e-commerce platforms such as Flipkart and Amazon were also selling the phone at the reduced MOP.
Vivo Y91 specifications
To recall the Vivo Y91 specifications, the smartphone packs a 6.22-inch FullView display with HD+ (720 x 1,520p) resolution and a tiny cut-out up top to house the selfie camera, which is marketed by the company as ‘Halo’ notch. The phone has a screen-to-body ratio of 88.6 percent. At its core lies an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, accompanied by a PowerVR GE8320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The handset offers 32GB built-in storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card.
In optics, the phone rocks dual 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel cameras with f/2.2 and f/2.4 aperture respectively at the back. And, on the front, it employs an 8-megapixel shooter with f/1.8 aperture lens for selfies and video calling. Vivo has backed the cameras of the Vivo Y91 with portrait mode, slow-mo, and AI smart beautification, AI skin tone, and AI external lighting.
The handset comes running Android 8.1 Oreo-based FunTouch OS out of the box. On the battery front, it gets a 4,030mAh battery. Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, face unlock, and connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GLONASS, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB 2.0 port. Lastly, the phone comes in Starry Black and Ocean Blue colour options.
