Vivo has once again slashed the prices of a couple of its Y series smartphones, namely the Vivo Y91 and Y95 (first impressions). This is the second price cut the handsets have received in as many months. 91mobiles has learned from its retail sources that the company has axed the prices of the two phones by Rs 1,000 each. With that, the Vivo Y95 is now available at Rs 13,990 down from its previous MOP of Rs 14,990, while the Vivo Y91 at Rs 8,990 instead of Rs 9,990. The new price cut seems to be for the offline market as on the e-commerce platforms continue to sell the smartphones at their old MOPs.
Vivo Y91 and Vivo Y95 specifications
Starting with the Vivo Y95, the handset comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ LCD display with a waterdrop notch up top. At its core lies Snapdragon 439 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. For photography, the handset rocks a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel sensors on the rear panel and a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. The phone boots Funtouch OS 4.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 4,030mAh battery. The Vivo Y95 has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and comes in in two colour options: Starry Black and Nebula Purple.
The Vivo Y91, on the other hand, features a 6.22-inch FullView display with HD+ (720 x 1,520 pixels) resolution and a ‘Halo’ notch. Powering the device is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, accompanied by a PowerVR GE8320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The handset offers 32GB built-in storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. In the camera department, the Vivo Y91 features 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel setup on the rear and 8-megapixel shooter with f/1.8 aperture lens on the front for selfies and video calling. Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor Android 8.1 Oreo-based FunTouch OS, and a 4,030mAh battery. Lastly, the phone comes in Starry Black and Ocean Blue hues.
