Vivo has posted three teasers that heavily hint at the Z series. The images in all three teasers have the letter ‘Z’ missing from the respective words, with the captions in the tweets asking users to find “Can you find it?”
As we reported previously, the Vivo Z series will be aimed at Xiaomi’s Redmi series smartphones and will be performance focussed handsets. Therefore, we can expect the upcoming Z series smartphones to offer powerful specifications at aggressive prices. A report by India Today also claims that the Vivo Z series smartphone in India will be powered by a Snapdragon 700 series chipset.
For the record, the Vivo Z5x rocks Snapdragon 710 SoC. The handset also sports a punch-hole display, an edge-to-edge screen, and a combination of 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel sensors on the rear. The front camera gets a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The phone comes pre-loaded with Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS out of the box and houses a beefy 5,000mAh battery.
The Vivo Z5x with aforementioned specs has been aggressively priced in China starting at RMB 1,398 (~Rs 14,000) for the base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The high-end 6GB RAM + 8GB RAM + 128GB storage at RMB 1,998 (~Rs 20,000).
